The purpose of the job interview is to persuade the employer that you have the skills, background, and ability to do the job and that you can comfortably fit into their organization. Be prepared for your next interview. More than likely, you will be asked at least one of the following Most Common Interview Questions.

What Are Your Weaknesses?
Keep it business related. This question can easily being answered by actually emphasizing your strengths. Stating that you are constantly working to improve all of your abilities can show that you are open to change, ambitious and a hard worker.

Why Should We Hire You?
Summarize your positive attributes and experience.

Why Do You Want to Work Here?
Do your homework. This is a good opportunity to impress the interviewer by letting them know you have researched the company and find what and how they do things is similar to your way thinking. Stating actual facts and figures about the company is a definite bonus.

What Are Your Goals?
Easy. This is a great chance to state your serious interest in this company. State that you looking to obtain a position with a strong company with the potential for you to grow.

Why Did You Leave (Are You Leaving) Your Job?
Never badmouth your previous employer. If you have been with your previous company for a long number of years, a good comment might be. After 5 years of hard work and promotions, I found it was time to apply my experience on a new level. If you're unemployed, you can state your reason for leaving in a positive manner: "I managed to survive two rounds of corporate downsizing, but the third round was a 20 percent reduction in the workforce, which included me."

The interviewer wants to know what motivates you. If you can relate an example of a job or project when you were excited, the interviewer will get an idea of your preferences. What makes you unique? This will take an assessment of your experiences, skills and traits. What Are Three Positive Things Your Last Boss Would Say About You?
It's time to pull out your old performance appraisals and boss's quotes. This is a great way to brag about yourself through someone else's words: "My boss has told me that I am the best designer he has ever had. He knows he can rely on me, and he likes my sense of humor."

What Salary Are You Seeking?
Doing your homework here can really help. Knowing what the going rate in that area might be, or what someone with your experience is. It is to your advantage if the employer tells you the range first. Prepare by knowing the going rate in your area, and your bottom line or walk-away point. One possible answer would be: "I am sure when the time comes, we can agree on a reasonable amount. In what range do you typically pay someone with my background?"

If You Were an Animal, Which One Would You Want to Be?
Interviewers use this type of psychological question to see if you can think quickly. If you answer "a bunny," you will make a soft, passive impression. If you answer "a lion," you will be seen as aggressive. What type of personality would it take to get the job done? What impression do you want to make?

Successful applicants must be conscientious about their schedule, paperwork, follow-up for customers, sales and inventory, reporting and completion of required reading. • Demonstrated clarity and precision in verbal and written communication.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet and database applications, as well as, experience with web technologies.

Can provide engineering oversight of repairs needed to correct discrepancies discovered while aircraft is in check. Functions as a team leader / member on projects with Engineering Liaisons, Maintenance Planning, Maintenance, and Quality Control. Assists in Development of an Engineering Procedures Manual. Knowledge and experience working with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) part 121 and 145 regulations related to operational and maintenance requirements of air transport category aircraft or the equivalent European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) regulations. Applicant must have experience and understanding of commercial airline engineering and maintenance operations with detailed knowledge related to repair and modification of aircraft door, fuselage, stabilizer, and wing structures.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

A theoretical and practical knowledge of Boeing Narrow Body aircraft structure. Strong analytical ability, particularly in identifying problems and significant trends. Experience or ability to utilize 2D AutoCAD software. The ability to balance multiple tasks and an aptitude for project management. Excellent leadership, communications, and speaking skills required. Will have a well developed ability to create, implement, and adhere to plans and schedules. Places a higher priority on team and organizational goals than own goals. Offers to provide assistance and / or project team leadership to other teams and / or employees when doing so would benefit the organization. Previous management experience is preferred.

Typical Education / Experience:

B.S. degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering. 5 to 10 or more years of related work experience. Experience with obtaining 8110’s, 337’s and STC’s. Experience with Boeing 727, 737, and 757 aircraft are preferred.

Arizona Plans Expansion At Grand Canyon Airport

A proposal to build a much larger terminal at Grand Canyon National Park Airport would allow for commercial passenger flights to the area and could boost the number of visitors to the airport to as many as 1 million each year.

Companies to penalize workers for unhealthy habits

A growing number of companies, including Wal-Mart, have announced plans to increase health care costs for employees who smoke, are overweight or make other unhealthy living choices. The percentage of large and midd employers using the penalty approach will more than double next year, according to a survey by Towers Watson and the National Business Group on Health. "Nothing else has worked to control health trends," NBGH executive LuAnn Heinen says.

United starts testing of iPads to replace flight manuals

United Airlines is testing iPads for use in the cockpit to replace paper flight manuals. "The time is right to do this with new technology," said Capt. Joe Burns, United Airlines' managing director of technology and flight test. The tablet devices weigh 1.5 pounds, while paper flight manuals and navigation charts can weigh up to 40 pounds.

Report criticizes TSA assessment of foreign airports

A recent government report found that the Transportation Security Administration is not properly evaluating security risks at non-U.S. airports. The Government Accountability Office said the TSA last year found non-compliance issues at a number of airports inspected but had no consistent way to compare or assess the level of risk. "TSA has not yet taken steps to evaluate its assessment results to identify regional and other trends over time," the report said. "The agency has not developed criteria and guidance for determining foreign airport vulnerability ratings."

ATA campaigns against airline taxes with "barf bags"

The Air Transport Association passed out "barf bags" to protest aviation taxes at the Reagan Washington National Airport in Washington, D.C., as part of the ATA's Stop Air Tax Now campaign. "To demonstrate that taxes are making people sick, the ATA will be distributing air-sickness bags at Reagan Washington National Airport to airline customers and employees, reinforcing that new taxes will increase costs and reduce service," said the ATA.

Bill would protect U.S. airlines from "unjust" EU plan, lawmaker says

The House of Representatives passed a bill prohibiting U.S. airlines from participating in the European Union's emissions-trading scheme. "[T]his bill will protect U.S. airlines and all Americans who rely on them for travel and employment from the unjust effects of the EU's plan," said Rep. Nick Rahall, D-W.Va.

EU emissions-trading scheme could inflate airfares, Mica says

The European Union's emissions-trading scheme could raise round-trip airfares to Europe by $30. "If imposed on Jan. 1, this tax could close down direct travel from most central and western U.S. airports to Europe, and remaining airline ticket costs would skyrocket," said Rep. John Mica, R-Fla. Nancy Young, Air Transport Association vice president of environmental affairs, argued that it's unfair for Europe to penalize airlines for burning fuel outside of the continent. "We're saying no to implementation of a unilateral scheme using European targets where the money gets funneled to European coffers," said Young.

Continental prepares pilot training for 787 arrival

Continental Airlines anticipates the arrival of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner in the second half of next year, and the unit of United Continental has been preparing pilot training for the lightweight aircraft. The flight deck of the 787 is similar to the 777, but the aircraft includes new technology such as a head-up display to help pilots navigate in poor weather

UPS Airlines to recall some laid-off mechanics to work

United Parcel Service has reached an agreement with the union representing aircraft maintenance technicians and other employees to return some laid-off employees to work. Mike Mangeot, manager of public relations for UPS Airlines, said the mechanics brought back will primarily fill in for employees on disability or leave. "This is a temporary situation; we are not bringing back any of our laid-off mechanics on a permanent basis," he said.

DOT investigates tarmac delays at Bradley

The Department of Transportation is investigating incidents where flights had extended tarmac delays this past weekend at Bradley International Airport in Connecticut. DOT will include in its review "equipment performance" because the Port Authority of N.Y. and N.J. described "intermittent problems with the FAA’s ground-based air traffic control systems" during the period. Passenger rights activist Kate Hanni said airports are not fined for tarmac delays. "The problem here is that the airports are not subject to potential fines and have not kept their word," Hanni said. DOT responded that it regulates airlines, but doesn't have the same authority for airports

American Airlines takes steps to ease wave of pilot retirements

The number of pilots retiring at American Airlines slowed in October to 68. In the previous two months, more than 100 pilots retired each month due to a retirement plan provision tied to the stock market. "A number of steps have been taken over the last few months to mitigate staffing shortages as a result of the higher pilot retirements in September and October," said Missy Cousino, a spokeswoman for American.

Aeromexico, Delta joint venture to expand MRO facility

Aeromexico plans to expand its maintenance, repair and overhaul operations in Guadalajara, Mexico, through a joint venture with Delta Air Lines. The expanded MRO facility will allow the Mexican carrier to include maintenance of regional jets for both Aeromexico and Delta. Aeromexico CEO Andres Conesa said the company plans to invest up to $35 million in the expansion.
